| The Sierra Health Foundation launched their Responsive Grants Program in June 2008. They have committed $2.4 million in funding over the next two years for nonprofit organizations and public agencies in their 26-county funding region. The goal of the program is to promote health and well-being. Sierra Health is asking nonprofit organizations and agencies to tell them what their community needs and concerns are, and how a grant can help. Responsive grants up to $40,000 will support projects in three broad funding areas: Expanding Health Insurance, Improving Health Care Access, and Promoting Health. Of the $1.2 million available in 2008, 30% will be available to projects serving rural areas in the funding region and 70% will be available to projects serving urban areas and/or rural areas. Applications are due by noon on August 15th. For more information, visit http://www.sierrahealth.org/doc.aspx?129. |
